Do you mean that the red recording meter is not responding while you are recording, even though the recording is working correctly?

Re: help installed but audacity can't launch browser

I installed the same setup on a second computer at the same time and it works fine, though I installed a lot more on that machine, including konqueror, and it uses konqueror to display the links. Do you have a web browser installed on the first machine? The second machine has Konqueror configured a...

Re: Echo will not apply! Help!

You may have the echo set too slow to actually occur within the selection. Exactly what settings are you using for the echo, and how long is the selection that you are applying it to? Is the recording mono or stereo?

Re: Exporting for Jlipsync

This part of the forum is for issues relating to the forum itself. There are sections for Audacity 1.2.x and another for 1.3.x on Windows. You should be using Audacity 1.3.11 on Vista. Assuming that you are using Audacity 1.3.11, in the Export dialogue, select "Other Uncompressed Files" as...

Re: Is there a way to fix recording weirdness?

Your recording is too "hot" (recorded too loud) which is causing the fuzziness (distortion). I suspect that the disappearing notes is being caused by the AGC (automatic gain control) - see item #8 in the microphone set-up instructions to switch AGC off, then adjust the recording level so t...

Re: Interference

(I started with 1.3.8 and decided maybe I needed to switch from the Beta to the Stable) The most stable version is almost certainly Audacity 1.3.11 (in spite of the naming). Upgrading to the latest version can magically resolve a lot of strange problems. It sounds like you may be just recording a b...

Re: New checkout fails to build

will re-post in the correct forum No problem, I've moved this (and left a shadow post for redirection). I probably can't offer much help as I've only ever built on 'nix, but what's this? f:audbuildsvnaudlib-srcslv2srcslv2_internal.h(26) It's an odd looking path, and what's the "(26)"? Is ...

Re: CD Burning problems

I will try an upgrade if all else fails. Upgrading to Audacity 1.3.11 is definitely worthwhile whatever. It won't take you long to become familiar with it - all works pretty much the same as Audacity 1.2.6 but lots of improvements. The major difference that you will notice is the completely reworke...

Re: Audacity crashes when I use noise removal.

I zoom in, I highlight about 0.3 seconds to 4.5 seconds (beginning of a track), I select "Effect | Noise Removal" I click on "Get Noise Profile", usually it will "play" the selection You mean it plays the selection when you press the "Get Noise Profile" butto...
