Re: Corrrect processing order for 78s recorded at 45
It might be of interest - the current Audacity source code includes support for "Inverse" Equalization curves (great for doing the "reverse RIAA" thing). This may be included in the new Audacity 1.3.12 release that is due next week.

Re: No Sound
You should be using the latest 1.3 version (currently 1.3.11 - 1.3.12 is due to be released next week). You have all posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum so I'll move the entire topic to the 1.3.x part. None of you have said what kind of sond card device you are using. I'll assume that you...

Re: MP3 sounding different
What can I do to make my MP3's sound better? Use a higher quality (bigger file) setting. When you get to the Export screen where you select the file type (WAV, MP3. ...) click on the "Options" button. Try using the "Preset" settings. "Standard" will usually give good r...

Re: Whine on USB mixer only when Aud is monitoring
What sort of computer are you using? Laptop power supplies will frequently cause interference, though I don't know why it should only be noticeable when monitoring, but if you are using a laptop, try running it from batteries and see if you still have the noise. If it's a full size computer, try it ...

Re: EFFECT COLUMN GREYED OUT 1.2.6
On Vista you should be using Audacity 1.3.11 (due to be updated next week to 1.3.12)
Effects are only available when Audacity is Stopped. They are not available in Play, Record or Pause mode.

Re: display bugs?
OK. I've been struggling with Paint for way too long. Windows people without Photoshop or Corel Paint may not be able to post cropped screen grabs. Grab a copy of Irfanview (free for home use) http://www.irfanview.com/ or Gimp (open source but may be a bit over the top for just cropping screen capt...

Re: display bugs?
win xp pro sp2 1.3.9 beta Audacity 1.3.x is currently moving through a period that is predominantly bug fixing. Issues in old versions may be already fixed in the current version. The current version is 1.3.11 and Audacity 1.3.12 is due out next week. I've no idea what you mean by "ringing&quo...
