Re: audacity.exe has encountered a problem and needs to clos
On the computers that I use regularly (3 of them) Audacity 1.3.11 is exceptionally stable. I'd definitely recommend it. Yes it uninstalls easily, but if you want to make a 100% perfect un-install follow these steps to "install" it: 1) Download the ZIP version of Audacity 1.3.11 (a ZIP file...

Re: Always scans for VST Plug-ins on startup[SOLVED]
I've just been trying out the 1.3.12 release candidate (RC2) and it looks like it may now be fixed. Note that this is NOT a release version of Audacity, but if you would like to test it you can get it here: http://aldimond.users.sf.net (If you try it, make sure you get the RC2 version - there's an e...

Are you on Vista? Do you have a version of the RODE Poscaster microphone that requires the firmware update?
Are you using Audacity 1.3.11?

Re: Audacity Stable Installation With No Volume!
No volume after loading files! ... That's not much information to go on. Are your speakers plugged in? What sound card are you using? What operating system are you using? What settings do you have in Audacity and in your computer sound card control panel/mixer? Need much more information if you wan...

At best this will take time and effort. At worst it will take time and effort and won't work.
Here's how you do it: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/CrashRecovery
(Often it's best to bite the bullet and start again.)

Re: Help recording with 1.3.11 Beta and Win 7
In my sound control panel under recording I have 3 options: microphone - microphone - line in. They are all enabled but say not plugged in. I am trying to record audio streaming over my speakers. I have the Show disabled devices and show disconnected devices options checked. You've done everything ...

Re: Help please: Audacity Closes when I Amplify
Look in "Help > About Audacity" , exactly which version of Audacity are you using? (it should be 1.3.11)
Are you amplifying the entire track, or just part of it?
Are you zoomed so that you can see the entire track, or just part of it?

Re: help me understand something about envelope tool...
Which one should I use? Either of them. Why are there two places to edit the envelope? The outer dots are generally easier to use for making the envelope fade quieter - there's just not much room for movement from the inner pair. The inner "control points" are required so that you can inc...

Re: What does this mean?
And another part of the picture: You also need a good studio performer . Good studio equipment and technique can make a bad voice sound better, but there's an old saying that you can't make a silk purse from a pigs ear. One of the measures of a really good performer is how little you need to do to m...
