This is logged on the Audacity bug tracker.
The workaround is to press "Ctrl + i" after applying the effect. That will re-establish the splits.

When I click Menu/open... and select the audacity project, it says: '...aup is an audacity project file. Use Menu->open to open it.... That error message is misleading in this case. What it actually means is that Audacity has tried to open it as a project, and has tried to import it as an audio fil...

Look in the Windows Sound settings, in the "Recording" tab, to see if the device can be set to record 4 channels.

Please describe in more detail what you are doing.

I don't use ASIO (I'm mostly on Linux), but apparently it is possible to set up ASIO in "shared mode". Try Googling for "ASIO shared mode".

Check in the Windows Sound settings to see how many channels the device is set to record from.

That sounds encouraging. Which exact version of RX7 are you using?

Try rebooting the computer - Audacity may be starved of resources.
