Re: Tuning my voice?

Far as I know G-Snap is Windows only.
Autotalent is a LADSPA effect and should work on any platform but is only available as source code, so that will mostly be Linux users.
Are there any "auto tune" type effects available for Mac?

Re: Tuning my voice?

To install new plug-ins, place them in the Plug-Ins folder inside the Audacity installation folder. On Windows computers, this is usually under "Program Files". On Mac OS X, it is usually under "Applications". Restart Audacity, then the Plug-ins will appear underneath the divider...

Re: bringing mp3 player recording into Audacity

The file is probably encoded in a format that is not MP3 (could be WMA, AAC, or any number of other formats). Audacity 1.2.x supports few audio formats and many compressed audio formats just become super-fast chirps. Audacity 1.3.11 can be enhanced by adding "FFMpeg" which gives it support...

Try setting the Fast Track as the default recording and playback device for your operating system. If you're on some version of Windows you will do that in the Windows Control Panel.

Re: I SELECT but CUT / COPY etc still not active!

Most actions in Audacity require that Audacity is in STOP mode. You can not edit while Audacity is Playing, Recording or Paused.

Re: third-party plugins...

You will need to use Audacity 1.3.11 Do not install the "VST Bridge" on Audacity 1.3.11. Audacity does not support all VST effects, but the number of supported effects is gradually increasing. See here for more information; http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/VST_Plug-ins I hear that G-Snap ...

Re: Audacity display problem

This has come up a few times and each time it was due to problems with video card drivers. Updating the drivers or using a proprietary driver will probably fix it.

Re: Recording Issues

Try disconnecting the printer and the external hard drive, then plug the turntable into the USB socket that the hard drive was using. Then reboot and see if the turntable appears in the "Safely Remove Hardware" screen.
