Re: Error - wont record
IS IT WORTH ME DOWNLOADING THE PREVIOUS VERSION? It's probably not worth using the 1.2.6 version as that version was written back in the dark ages (before Vista was released) and it is far more common for there to be problems with 1.2.6 on Vista than with 1.3.11. However, having said that, some use...

Re: Recording Issues
Thanks for your patience with this. I think we've final got to the root of the problem which is that the USB connection from the turntable is not working. This could be because there is a hardware fault in the turntable or the USB lead is broken. If the Turntable is still under guarantee you should ...

Re: Big Difference in Audio Quality (Microphone)
The choice of microphone/pre-amp largely depends on your budget and what you are wanting to record. The price range is roughly $20 to $20,000. If you can give an idea of both budget and what you want to record I'll try and give some pointers as to what to look for. A couple of other specifics are re...

Re: cannot get lame to work in windows 7
Search your computer for all versions of lame_enc.dll and either delete or (safer) rename them (add ".bak" to the file name). Go to Users<user name>AppDataRoamingAudacity and find the file "audacity.cfg" (you will probably need to make "hidden files" visible to find it)...

Re: Recording Stops(USB turntable) After 30-100 seconds-Help
Hate's a pretty strong word Mr. Fiddle. This site has a family audience and I was trying to avoid using some other words ;) Do you have a computer microphone hidden away in a draw somewhere? One that plugs into the computer microphone socket? If so, get it out, plug it in and see if you can record ...

Re: Jitter and Lag Problem
If I'm creating multiple tracks within a project should each individual track be recorded at a level just below clipping or should I shoot for a minimal track wave or should I be somewhere in between? When recording I aim for a peak level that is over half way (+/- 0.5) which is the same as -6dB. S...

Re: Classic Reverb in 1.3 (Beta)
Audacity 1.3.11 comes with G-Verb pre-installed.
As far as I know there has never been a version of Audacity that was distributed with "Classic Reverb".
