The MP3 file is 10% the size of the WAV file, but the sound quality is clearly inferior (at least when played through the smallish Altec speakers hooked to my computer). 128kbps is generally...

Re: new mixer bought trying to record
Go back to step 4 of my previous post and turn the volume down to about half, then use the level controls on your mixer to reduce the level so that it does not distort.

Re: Just got Audacity 1.2.3 and UCA202...trouble
one of the regular forum elves uses the UCA202 regularly to produce good stereo recordings That'll be me. The UCA202 is a stereo device. The device has no configuration options for mono/stereo, it is always 2 channels (stereo). On Windows Vista and Win 7 there is a configuration option for the Wind...

Re: Listening to one track and recording a second isues
In Audacity Preferences, set "Play existing tracks while recording new ones," and, I think, Hardware Playthrough. On Windows there is not an option to set "Hardware Playthrough". Hardware Playthrough is the default and is used if "Software Playthrough" is NOT selected....

Re: budget (usb) mic for classical guitar recording needed
The mic is sold by Thomann I think T-Bone is their own brand. It is (sort of) their own brand. Thomann are the largest music equipment retailer in Europe and have several "own brands" (T-Bone, T-Box, Harley Benton, Millennium, Stairville, Swissonic...). Most of these "brands" ar...
