Re: piano sounds great going in, lousy in Audacity
FOR RECORDING KEYBOARDS FROM A MIXER using USB INTO YOUR LAPTOP: (if using Windows Vista) Well it's actually for recording anything that's Line level via USB in Vista, but thanks, that's very clear. on this track, you'll notice that the piano falls behind the rest of the track by almost a click. Is...

Re: Audacity Error Opening Sound Device
Thanks for being so thorough with your description - it saves a lot of time. Unfortunately you've missed one detail that is quite important - your operating system - Vista? (You also posted in the Audacity 1.2 part of the forum, but I'll move it to 1.3 when I finish typing). On Vista it is frequentl...

Re: (non)USB mic for classical guitar rec.(findings/conclusi
Thanks for the review bgravato - it would be a great resource if a lot more people posted reviews of what equipment they used with Audacity - perhaps this may inspire a few more. There's not much that I can add, other than that I've also used a T-Bone SC1100 (and have experience with many other micr...

Re: How to make mono save with stereo recording
You need to convert the track(s) to mono before you export (and do not move the "pan" sliders that are in the box below the track name from the centre position).
To make a stereo track mono, select the track then click on "Tracks menu > Stereo to Mono".

You're welcome.
If you have the time, perhaps you could post a note describing where you found the setting - could be useful for other users.

Nice work - it looks great against a dark background. There's some really "dynamic" stuff going on in those white flashes.

At least it now says that that Audacity 1.3.11 is the officially recommended version for Vista and Windows 7 ("best version for Windows 7 and Vista")

Re: Silencing part of a track causes Audacity to Crash
unfortunately, as long as 1.3 is labeled as a Beta version, the IT person at work (where I'm using the program) won't let me install it. :( There may be a loophole. Audacity 1.3 can be used without installing it . If you download the "ZIP" version of Audacity 1.3.11 (available near the bo...

Re: Installation
OK, you're not interested. Know what? Nor am I. It sounds like you are getting angry with the wrong people. Audacity is a free open-source program and is "community supported" (support comes from the community of Audacity users). CassetteMate is not Audacity and so there's not much that w...
