Re: Startup error
Is there any point in moving this folder anyway Probably not. On Linux, separating out applications and data onto different partitions is more a matter of convenience rather than performance. Linux will handle as much as it can in RAM and so avoid unnecessary disk operations. Consequently you are l...

Re: Recording on version 1.3.12 Win 7 prof 64 bits
It is recommended that you download Audacity from the "official" sources. I've no idea what that download was - it now comes up with "not found". You can always get the latest version from links on the main Audacity web site: http://audacityteam.org/download/ Audacity 1.3.12 is d...

Re: Windows 7 64-bit Microphone Problem
It is common on Vista and 7 that not all recording inputs are automatically enabled in the Recording tab. This means they are invisible in that tab, and also invisible to recording applications like Audacity. So you need to make them visible, then enable the one you want to use, thus: 1. Right-clic...

Re: New plugin "Super Bass Cut"
One of the problems of boiling your own filter is defining the terms. Hum and buzz does not go 60, 120. It goes 60, 180. Odd harmonics -- and then, of course, only in 60 Hz power countries. Even harmonics may be present, but as you say they are usually far less prominent than the odd harmonics. I'v...

Hum removal plug-in
It was mentioned in this thread http://forum.audacityteam.org/posting.php?mode=reply&f=16&t=27627 that "mains hum", while usually having a fundamental frequency of 50 or 60Hz (depending on which part of the world) usually has many "overtones". These overtones are predomin...

Re: Problems with recording
You have posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum. The ".AUP" file is only part of your Audacity project - AUP files do not contain any audio data. See here for an explanation of Audacity projects: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/File_Management_Tips Your track name contains some v...

Re: How do I make one Audio Book track from CD rip
I do purchase Audio Books from Audible and I'm unable to over come thier encryption method so I can share these books. Encryption methods (such as DRM) are designed to prevent you from "sharing". If you check the terms of your purchase agreement you will probably find that you only have r...

On Win 7 you should be using the latest 1.3 version. You can get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows It is essential that the sound card drivers are the latest available. Many of the drivers that were first released for Win 7 were cobbled together quickly in time for Win 7 release...
