Re: Metadata for WAVE files?
Audacity 1.2.6 > No, metadata is not stored in WAV files Audacity 1.3.11 > Yes, if you enter metadata for a WAV file then it is written into the WAV header block, but not many applications are able to read it. For best compatibility with other programs, WAV files should not have metadata, though it ...

Re: Noise when trying to record
It's probably the USB connection.
Check that the USB cable is seated well in the socket and reboot the computer.
The ARTcessories Phono Plus USB must be connected directly to the computer USB port - not through a USB hub.

Re: Mono Track To Stereo
-1 but I'm open to persuasion. How often is it necessary to convert a mono track to a stereo track? On Mixdown or Export, if there is stereo material it will automatically be converted to stereo. If there is only mono data then it will automatically be converted to a mono file (irrespective of wheth...

Re: Stereo separation / stereo tracks with balanced audio
I've got some stereo tracks with drums in left and synth in right. I want them balanced so that the source tracks are equal volume in both-- I want equal amounts of both drums and synth in both speakers. Audacity 1.3.x only (not Audacity 1.2.x) Click on the name of the track and from the drop down ...

Re: **SOLUTION** FFmpeg library not detected in 1.3.xx
Thanks for the feedback aardvark2zz.
It would be really interesting to know which file was causing the problem.
Did you delete the "audacity.cfg" file?
Any chance that you could mess it up again and so find out exactly which file?
(OK, I guess not
).

Re: Crashing Audacity 1.3.9 & 1.3.10 on Mandriva 2010.0
Is the "Pulse Audio Manager" the same thing as pavucontrol? No - I couldn't remember the package name so I've had to look it up. It's "paman". Apparently this package is now obsolete, so I assume that the functionality has been moved elsewhere. (possibly into pavucontrol for Ver...

Re: Crashing Audacity 1.3.9 & 1.3.10 on Mandriva 2010.0
As you've obviously been kicking round in the Linux world for a while you will understand that "sound" on Linux is not exactly "tidy". :? If you are using Ardour for recording with Jack, then it would seem an obvious choice to try and get Audacity working with Jack. Audacity has ...

Re: export multiple to new folder
WMP is not my favourite software and certainly not a good tool for diagnosing problems. It has more ways of messing up your work than truck load of monkeys. Try downloading Foobar2000 (it's free) and see if that plays the files correctly. http://www.foobar2000.org/ and burning to W.M.Player Not sure...
