Re: how can I do these exercises?

This also helps to make it easy: http://www.phy.mtu.edu/~suits/notefreqs.html

We are assuming "equal temperament" where a semitone is 2^(1/12) x previous note (approximately 1.0594631)

Re: Mono Track To Stereo

Get rid of the split stereo track to mono. Its redundant and confusing A common use for this feature, and the reason that it was introduced, is for people that routinely record two instruments/sounds as a stereo track - one instrument left and the other one right, and then want to split into two mo...

Re: Quick Audacity question.

Not really much in Audacity to help with that, but if you click on the time line, playback will start from the point where you click - quite useful for comparing one point in a song with another.

Re: budget (usb) mic for classical guitar recording needed

There's not a lot of difference, but the USB sounds "cleaner" and a shade brighter to me. Do you know what bit depth the ART runs at internally? There's a bit of high up noise on the xonar recording that sounds remarkably like "dither" noise. I wonder if the ART is running at 24 ...

Re: Just needing some help...

Re: RECORDING ON DISKS THAT ARE COMPATIBLE WITH CD PLAYERS

CD-R - 52x 700 MB or CD-R - 48x 700 MB To make a CD that will play on a normal CD player you must create an "audio CD". Many CD burning programs will make "data CDs" rather than "audio CD" by default. You must tel the CD burning program that you want to make an "au...

Re: Exporting multiple tracks

Play through that track in Audacity and check that it plays OK.
If there's no problem with it you can select just that section and use "Export Selection"

Re: Exporting multiple tracks

How many labels do you have in the label track?
You are putting all of the labels in the same label track?
Does each label have a unique name?
What settings do you have in the Export Multiple dialogue?

Re: Latency ?????

This is a problem inherent with USB microphones. There is no direct (hard wired) route from the microphone to the sound card, so foldback can only be done in software, which is much slower than hardware and causes the delay. Some USB microphones provide a headphone socket on the microphone itself. T...
