Re: The audio sounds like crud
Id like to run just the 1.3 version, but I am unable to figure out how to listen to the track / run the track while recording in 1.3. I agree this would be best - let's see if we can get it to work ;) There looks to be a lot of steps here, but I've tried to break it down into a simple step-by-step ...

Don't worry about that - it's not relevant to your set-up because you are using a USB turntable.robgbrown wrote:What would the point pf a pre-amp be?

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
One box should be fine. As Koz has said, there may be a bit of "cross talk" (the signal from one microphone circuit bleeding through to the other circuits), but for your application that doesn't matter since you intend to mix them all together anyway. It is even possible to run all of the ...

Re: Default and Uninstall
Is there a way to restore default settings in version 1.3.X? Yes - you just need to delete Audacity's configuration file "audacity.cfg" For Windows Vista and 7 it is in: Users <user name> AppDataRoamingAudacity The only slightly tricky thing about this is that Windows may be hiding that f...

Re: MP3 distortion
Thanks chaps - I've been following this topic with interest. While sound quality problems with MP3 are not uncommon (it's a lossy compression format) I've never noticed this type of distortion before. 128kbps is usually fairly reasonable even on stereo tracks, but there is clearly a "quality&qu...

Re: Another highly dynamic recording problem
Try using Chris's Dynamic Compressor. You can get it from here: http://pdf23ds.net/software/dynamic-compressor/ Find where it says "Download the plugin source" - right click on that link and "Save/Save As" the file "compress.ny" Put that file in your Audacity plug-ins f...
