Re: Increase input volume for system sound
Hi yetanotheruser, I think I know what the problem is: I sent a mail to Asus customer service. They say that when my output volume in the Asus driver is at 100 too, I wouldn't notice a difference in volume when playing the recorded sound. This is not uncommon on some of the better quality sound card...

Re: Rendering Volume question.
My question is, does the volume I set it for during playback directly effect the sound of the file once it is rendered? The answer depends on which volume control you are talking about. There is a volume slider at the left end of each track - that volume slider does affect the exported sound. (ther...

Re: MP3 distortion
I may just adopt a standard of WAV file output, That would be ideal - though you can get the same sound quality as WAV using "Flac", or even "Zip" data compression (either will give around 2:1 data compression). "insane" (320kbps) MP3 will give near perfect reproductio...

Re: "Add Label At Playback Position" via keyboard problems
In Germany this question appears approx. every second month. How strange - Do you see any of the "[email protected]" messages? If not you could always ask Gale Andrews if he sees the question in the [email protected] emails. I've never seen the question here on the forum before your post today. "Add...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
What country are you in? I'm in the UK, Koz is in the US. Koz used different resistor values in his circuit to run from 2 coin cells - the resistor values are not very critical, but I'm sure Koz can give you a parts list if you want to replicate his design. Resistors are often available in packs of ...

Re: The .aup file will not open the .au files at long record
I have read in the forum that this causes the Audacity to run into a 4 GB limitation which makes it impossible for the .aup file to handle the .au files. The problem is that there is a 4GB limit on WAV files. There may be other size limitations due to the operating system, the disk file system, or ...

Re: Windows 7 specifc internal audio capturing?
i-Sound 7 uses the Windows Audio Session API ( WASAPI ) in Vista/Windows 7. This is only available for Vista and Windows 7, whereas Audacity needs to also work on XP, Mac and Linux. It may also be tied up with lots of proprietary licensing issues, which could exclude its adoption by open source appl...

Re: "Add Label At Playback Position" via keyboard problems
First of all: "Add Label At Playback Position" is misnamed because it also adds labels during recording not only during playback. I had at least ten users asking how to add labels while recording, because they couldn't find any function to do that. I think this is the first time it's come...
