Re: How to dynamically mod volume of one track to match anot
Good so far :) Now this is the "snd-follow" bit that will turn your control track into a volume envelope - Don't use this on a long track - it can be very slow and could even crash Audacity if the track is too long. Up to 30 second should be fine. We will modify this before we use it for r...

Re: No Playback Sound
Do you think I should still upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12? Oh yes, 1.3.12 is loads better. You don't need to uninstall your old version, 1.3.12 will install in a different folder and you can have them both on your machine - you just can't run them simultaneously and Audacity 1.2 cannot open projects t...

Re: How to dynamically mod volume of one track to match anot
The method described by Trebor was also using Nyquist functions, just that one of the steps had already been made into a plug-in. Either way, it will be necessary to process each half of the stereo track separately, then stick the two halves back together when we've finished. There's going to be a f...

Sounds like it's loosing its connection to your sound card.
Are you using Audacity 1.3.12?

Re: How to dynamically mod volume of one track to match anot
Trebor's code works on one stereo track with the "control" track as one channel and the "tune" (to be modulated) as the other channel. The exact steps to do this depend on which version of Audacity you are using (it's easier if you are using Audacity 1.3.12 than with 1.2.6, so if...

Re: audacity sometimes won't start when devices change
You can use regular expressions in the patchbay... Fantastic  Tried Googling, but came up with zilch - just references that it could be done, but no clue as to how . Finally, after a good bit of trial and error... For left and right inputs in Audacity: in_d*[13579]$ in_d*[02468]$ For left ...

I understand the reluctance to call 1.3.x "stable", so how about changing it from "1.3 (beta)" to "1.3 (better)" ?

Re: Frustration w/program
If you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12 there are (very useful) counters at the bottom.
(Don't worry about the "beta" description, it's more stable than the (now very old) 1.2.6 version)

Re: Youtube
Well that's the two quick 'n' easy possibilities out of the way, now we'll have to start digging. You need to start this off - what sort of computer, what operating system, which exact version of Audacity, what sort of headphones/speakers.... Don't spare the detail, too often it takes half a dozen p...
