Re: How do I get rid of the static or white noise?

Are you wanting to remove the noise, or make the recordings without the noise in the first place?

What are you recording and how? Is it you singing into a microphone? What sort of microphone?
Which version of Audacity and what operating system?

Re: Mono only problem

this is a phone or something? I don't have this It's a portable recorder - the problem being discussed in this topic concerns importing tracks from an H2 recorder and using them in ProShow Gold for creating a slide show. We try to keep discussions to one topic at a time so as to avoid confusion. To...

Re: Recording Two Inputs Simultaneously?

Oops. Never mind. I think that's only a Mac thing. I've heard of people doing that on Linux, but not on Windows. Other recording software may be able to record from multiple USB microphones - it depends in part on how well the audio drivers will play together. The blanket "no you can't" i...

Re: Cant open my recording!!!

I agree with TropiRock that the "sporadic" nature of the failure is a bit worrying.
Have you tested your hard drive lately? It may be worth doing a full scan with checkdisk or similar utility just in case your hard drive is about to die on you.

This is what I mean by "distortion" http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?mode=view&id=1397 "sounds really clear" is what I was hoping you would say. The simplest form of ADT is simply a second copy of the original track that has been delayed a little. You can creat...

Re: Recording Problems

May I just backtrack a little to check that I'm not looking in the wrong direction. Are you saying that the buzz is only when you record? Is the buzz only while you are recording, or is it also when you playback things in Audacity? Is it only in Audacity that you hear the buzz? Do other things play ...

Re: 1.3.12 Beta language choice in Interface

then "Language" in Preferences should show "System" and "English". If the system language was English, obviously those choices amount to the same thing. Yes, that's what I mean. The choice is "System" or "English" and defaults to "System",...

Re: Posting Sound

FLAC would be a very useful one as it is lossless compression and supported by Audacity (on all platforms?) +1 WMA could be useful given the number of Windows users, but carries an additional security risk. It is not uncommon for files with WMA extensions to be used for launching internet pop-up ads...
