It doesn't sound logical does it - but it's correct.
Windows treats the sound system as a "Background Service" - giving priority to Background Services give priority to the sound system.

Audacity 1.2.6 is known to have problems with Windows 7. If you mean that you want Recording to continue from the end of the same track - it's called "append record" and you can either select it from the "Transport" menu, or just press SHIFT+R

As Koz said - very easy to do with midi but near impossible with mixed music (audio). For audio the "Photosounder" effect is probably as close as you will get without spending thousands of pounds. For midi files you can do it with midi filters in Cakewalk - I'm not sure if there are any pr...

Audacity is not compatible with Skype so it is important that Skype is completely shut down before you open Audacity (Skype must not be running even in the background). the drop down box in audacity next to the mike has no options does that mean software has not recognised the mike No, it just means...
