Most if not all of the points in that SOS article are covered in that long topic on the forum. (Reading the forum post is free

Re: save recording with speed
The reason nobody's jumped on this is we can't figure out what you're trying to do. I'm feeling lucky so I'll have a guess :D My guess is that you (brelize ) have tried speeding up the playback using the "playback speed" slider next to the green arrow. That control does not actually chang...

Re: Frequency Analyzer in version 1.3.12
That confused me too when I first saw it. The "humps" will still be in the same place (and are easier to "read" now there is a grid) - it's just the amplitude scale that is different. This was discussed on the developers mailing list and received an answer that I don't understand...

Re: suse help wont record or hangs/ intermitant playback
It appears that you have Jack running.
In Audacity Edit menu > Preferences > Devices, select "Host: Jack"
Playback and recording devices should then automatically be set to "System".

Re: Having problems creating an audio file of a large video
Use a file format converter (such as the free "SUPER" by erightsoft) to convert from MPeg4 video to WAV (audio only).
You will then be able to import the WAV file into Audacity.

Re: Windows media player cannot burn my wav files
I think it's a bug in Windows Media Player.
Play the file (in Windows Media Player) and the length should then display correctly in WMP and burn to CD.

Re: Stereo mix problems
I have Vista and use the latest version of Audacity AND I have selected 2 (Stereo) in the Recording section of the Devices section and it STILL doesn't record in Stereo. Have you set Windows to record stereo in the Control Panel? http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Cont...

Re: Clap Hands for Cleaner Sound
That's a tough one - too much background noise.Trebor wrote: [Uses this Freesound]
I'm still working out what some of the settings do (there's no instructions for Postfish) so Postfish is probably capable of better even with as tough a sample as this.
