Re: Audacity & Edirol UA 25 & XP, No Recording

if audacity works shouldnt ms recorder work too ? On Windows XP, MS sound recorder requires that the recording input is set as the default in the Windows Control Panel as it is preconfigured to use the Microsoft Sound Mapper. It is not necessary to configure the sound system that way to get Audacit...

Re: Sound Activated Recording

You could get a clock that chimes the hours and place it close enough to the microphone so that it gets recorded.
There could be a major drawback if the dog can hear it and starts barking every time the clock chimes :D

Re: Audacity & Edirol UA 25 & XP, No Recording

The only thing I can figure is that the driver bundle I downloaded has drivers for several versions of windows and perhaps the incorrect driver was installed. I doubt that would be the case because you said that it was working in MS Sound recorder. If there was a driver problem then it wouldn't wor...

Re: Audacity doesn't connect to my DAC

Any suggestions??? It depends if you are running Jack or not. I assume that you have a fairly standard Ubuntu Studio installation. If you have Jack running, you will need to configure Jack to use the USB device (using "Jack Control"). If you are not running Jack, then you may be able to s...

Re: Audacity & Edirol UA 25 & XP, No Recording

When I check audio devices through Windows Control Panel the pc recognizes the Edirol ua 25 and I can record and play back through MS Sound recorder. That's great - it rules out a lot of possibilities. If it works in MS Sound recorder then it should also work in Audacity, which suggests that it is ...

Re: Error

Trouble with Notepad is that it does not show line numbers. (Notepad++ can show line numbers http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm )
If you have trouble finding the line, copy and paste the first dozen lines in your reply.

Re: problems recovering after power outage

Here's what we know about crash recovery http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/CrashRecovery
Personally, if automatic crash recovery does not work I give up on it and start again (or hopefully have a backup I can return to).

Re: Audacity dj mix recording mono problem

I don't use Vista or Windows 7 myself, so I'm just working from the documentation, but that third picture looks like the setting for recording stereo (I can't read Dutch either).

So what's happening now? Are you still only getting the recording on one side?
Have you checked the leads?
