Re: Export to mp3
I have the 1.2.6 version of Audacity(if it is necessary to know). Oh yes, that information is very helpful. Also knowing what version of Windows you are using is helpful. Where is that libmp3lame.so file You should not have a libmp3lame.so file if you are on Windows, so you need to say what your op...

Re: Help Building a Plugin
I'm impressed - the soft clipping sounds better than my original plug-in :) It does weird things on stereo files though. For processing stereo files you could add this to the end: (if (arrayp s) (vector (limit (aref s 0))(limit (aref s 1))) (limit s)) but you would also need to rename the variable &...

Re: Non-destructive editing
Koz is suggesting that to ease your paranoia you could upload back-up files to web/ftp servers around the world. My web space is located 4700 miles away in a data centre that uses hybrid servers (if part of the system fails it automatically switches to other hardware), is secured by armed guards, an...

Re: More versatile Nyquist fade/amplify effect
* the ;info line says "Select the required Preset" Changed to "Select the required Fade Shape..." Instead of "Start" and "End" (which could be verbs) ... "Initial" and "Final" YES! I Like it. :D (I knew there was a better description - jus...

Re: Unable to Record
I only see meter lights in two vertical rows. The one on the left is the one that registers when I speak into the mic, and is marked "L" below the row of lights. To its immediate right, is another row, also with 2 yellow lights, then an orange, and then a red clip light at the top. as yet...

Re: Recording Amplitube 3 using Audacity
If you are using Amplitude in Stand Alone mode, you need to use the built-in recorder. If you want to use it in VST mode, you need to use a VST host that supports real-time effects. Audacity does not support real-time effects. According to Google, Amplitude will work as a VST effect in "Krystal...

Re: Can't record after upgrade to Ubuntu Lucid
I don't think I have pavolume installed. Is that the same as the volume control applet? Sorry, I got the name wrong - I meant "pavucontrol" - the "PulseAudio volume control (not the Gnome/Alsa volume control). Pavucontrol is not just a volume control, it is also used for configuring ...

Re: Can't record after upgrade to Ubuntu Lucid
The host is set to ALSA, the record and playback devices are set to the sound card. Try setting it to: Host: ALSA Device(s): Default. Do you have pavolume control installed? Do you have more than one audio device installed? What output do you get if you type the following command into a terminal? a...

Re: Recording New Track
Open the sound card mixer (on Windows this is usually a loudspeaker icon near the time/date in the bottom right of the desktop).
Find the Recording input settings and set it to "Line In" (it's probably set to "Stereo Mix" or similar).
