Re: Exporting to variable bit rate
You are of course perfectly free to use whichever software you prefer, but just to address a couple of issues - One of the big features of Audacity is that it is a multi-track editor. For multi-track support with Wavepad you need to install and use a separate program "MixPad". Audacity is ...

Re: mono to stereo
If you're using Vista or Windows 7 you should use Audacity 1.3.12. In Audacity 1.3.12 Edit menu > Preferences > Devices > set "recording channels" to "2 (stereo)". In Vista and Windows 7 you need to go into the Windows Control Panel and in the "Sounds" section, set it t...

Re: Exporting to variable bit rate
You could have a very long wait - there hasn't been a non-beta release in over two years, and that was the final update to the ancient 1.2.x version. Not including the manual or plug-ins, Audacity should be around 25MB which is pretty small by modern standards (Adobe Audition is over 400 MB  ...

Re: splitting a file into units for video
reopening Audacity still has Silence Finder greyed out in Analyzer. If it is there at all (even greyed out) it means that it is installed. If it is not installed then it would be completely absent from the list. To be able to use it you must be in "STOP" mode (not playing and not paused) ...

Re: Exporting to variable bit rate
and the program is a massive 35 mb. That's not good. The .exe installer file for Windows is 11.3 MB and the .ZIP version is 8.1 MB Are you sure that you have downloaded Audacity? ("Help menu > About Audacity" should tell you which version it is). Do you have the Audacity Manual installed ...

Re: problem exporting as WMA in 1.3.7
WMA export in Audacity is provided by FFMpeg. The available options are determined by what FFMpeg can do. If you need options that are not available with FFMpeg, export as WAV then use Microsoft's WMA encoder.

Sorry, Chris's compressor is not available on my web site. You can get the current version from Chris's web site which is here: http://pdf23ds.net/software/dynamic-compressor/ Chris recently updated the effect to make it easier to use - the effect is basically the same as the old version but with le...

The problem also sometimes occurs on XP - it depends on the sound card drivers.Kwouk wrote:I work with XP And not Vista

Re: audio dj 2
You would probably be better to use the supplied TRAKTOR LE software as they are specifically designed to work together. You may be able to use the NI audio 2 dj as a basic playback device with Audacity (depending on the availability of compatible drivers) but I notice that the NI web-site says: &qu...

Re: Censoring a recording with a sound effect instead of a t
I can't use the time shift tool because I use a screen reader, That makes a big difference, you should have said so before. because I then have to mix and render them when I'm done. You don't have to mix and render - tracks are automatically mixed together when you export. Why can't I just generate...
