Re: Windows Vista! Can Someone Help?

How is your microphone connected?
Is it plugged directly into the microphone socket on your computer?
Is it plugged into an external microphone pre-amp?
Is it a USB microphone?
Is it comething else?

Re: Problem recording From Vinyl

There is one thing my friend noticed. On his old computer, he sometimes recorded from an audio cd into audacity. Under Windows 2000 he set the input from line in to wave and recorded a song from the cd. The new computer has Windows XP and the option to select wave (from the cd) is not there anymore...

Re: noise reduction tool

By default, when you use an effect without making a selection in the track, the entire track will be selected. What is probably happening is that the Noise Removal effect is processing the whole track and obtaining its "noise" profile from that. That will take a while for it to do, so you ...

Re: Problem with Export Multiple 1.3.10

Re: Error Opening .aup file

The problem is that one of the iTunes tags contains a weird character. This is line 11 <tag name="Full Name" value="Come So Far Got So Far To Go"/> To repair the .AUP file, you need to open it in a text editor and remove the offending o so that it reads: <...

getting organised about new Nyquist plug-ins

[Topic split from here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=29964 ] it seems to me what most are "envisaging" is that the first audio sample and last audio sample in the selection should have gain applied so as to be at the target level set in the effect..... would a way...

Re: Changing Voice from Male to Female

You can make your voice sound a little bit higher by using the "Change Pitch" effect in Audacity 1.3.12, but only use a small amount or the result will sound very weird. Other than that it is a matter of doing what actors do. Getting in the right frame of mind before you start (what actors...
