Re: Program adding unwanted silence
I know that Audacity 1.2.6 has some bugs, particularly on newer computers, and they are not going to get fixed because all development of Audacity 1.2.x has now ended, but I've no idea why the problem should suddenly appear if it was working correctly before. The only suggestion that I can think of ...

Re: Clicking sound
You have now made a c”onscious decision” to overcome the fear” .... Right, I see/hear what you mean. There are various things such as disk fragmentation, other programs running in the background, bad USB connections and so on, that can cause clicks (glitches) by causing data to be dropped during th...

Re: Clicking sound
I don't actually notice any clicking other than a couple of instances such as the middle of this short clip:
I presume that is not what you mean?

Re: Program adding unwanted silence
If you start a new project, do you get the same problem, or is the problem with just this one project?

Re: dj mix audio quality
You could use Microsoft Sound Mapper, but what that does is to set Audacity to use the system settings, which means that you would need to go into the Windows Control Panel and set the "Sounds and Audio Devices" to use the correct recording device. It's probably going to be easier to set t...

Re: Edited Audacity file will not play
"Save" creates an "Audacity Project". This is not an ordinary audio file.
To create an ordinary audio file you need to use "Export".

Re: Zero-Point editing and weird clicking sound
I guess I don't understand why this isn't automatically built-in to Audacity. Who would want to chop a wave where it sounds bad? It sounds "bad" if you are using it for looping, but that is not the only purpose of Audacity. When using a dedicated looping program such as the looping editor...

Re: dj mix audio quality
My guess is that the reason that the Audio DJ 4 is listed twice is because the sound card drivers are as two stereo pairs rather than one 4 channel device. You may have the wrong instance selected for the inputs that you are using.

Re: Convert stereo to mono
What I'm thinking is to first convert to mono, which should cut it in half... right? Not exactly. When you export in a compressed audio format such as MP3, the "compression settings" determine how many "bits" of data (digital 1's and 0's) are used for each second of audio. If yo...

Labels can be added every 10 minutes using "Regular Interval Labels" from the Analyze menu.
