Re: how do they do that in this rap song after vocal remover
since vocal remover is only for center panned, i'm guessing it's just not panned centerly, +it does sound like it's sound kind of background echo effect (but there's no echo, like it just comes from behind as the main vocals are heard) You're almost spot on with your analysis. The vocal has a main ...

Re: "File Formats" not displayed in Preferences menu?
I think you are looking at the wrong manual. In Audacity 1.2.x you had to go digging in the Preferences to change the file format. In Audacity 1.3.x you just select the required format in the "File menu > Export" dialogue screen. Some formats (such as MP3) also have options. The options ar...

Re: Audio Filtering Question
I'm not sure that I understand your first question, (but I think the answer is "yes"). The vertical axis indicates the "value" of each sample. As described here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_audio each digital sample has a "time" and a "level" - the ve...

Peut-être que cela peut résoudre le problème.Dreamker wrote:La bonne blague... Je n'ai pas d'entrée ligne sur mon pc... J'ai une prise pour brancher des écouteurs (sortie ligne) et la prise micro, mais c'est tout. Est-ce qu'on peut passer par le port HDMI?

Re: TrimTrack plug-in
I haven't looked in detail at the thread, but what's wrong with: ..... Absolutely nothing, unless you've got a whole load of tracks and you want to trim off the same amount from each. In this user case "1000 sound files of between 4 and 10 seconds each", in which case it is much quicker t...

Re: Text Envelope 0.8 beta
Would it be worth having a forum or wiki topic about these? There are a number of limitations of the Nyquist plug-in GUI that come up repeatedly.Gale Andrews wrote:It's something I have on a list of Nyquist matters to be investigated or improved for future.

Re: Text Envelope 0.8 beta
Linux systems seem to wrap at about 60 characters and Windows at about 70 characters. Would it work better if we just let the OS wrap the text, and only had a carriage return for a new paragraph? I think it probably would, but do you know what Macs do? I presume that there can be variation dependin...

Re: Updated Chris's Dynamic Compressor
Update: Regarding the "issue" of "ripple in amplitude" that I mentioned at the beginning of this topic. I've still not been able to reproduce the problem and have no idea why it occured, so unless anyone else notices similar effects I think it is safe to assume that it was a frea...

TrimTrack plug-in
This plug-in was in response to a question posted here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=30191 Well, I think a trimming plugin (whereby a user can specify how many milliseconds off the start or end of the file should be trimmed) would be useful for a lot of people (not just me)...

Re: Noise Gate
[Moderator note: Topic merged] "Noise gates" are blunt instruments for bashing low level noise between tracks or audio clips. In its simplest form it will allow sound to pass if the sound level is above a set "threshold" level, but when the level drops below the threshold the &q...
