Re: Song fragmented into multiple .aup files
AUP files are part of Audacity Projects - they are not audio files and can not be played on other software. See here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=File_Management_Tips You may also find this tutorial useful: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Transferring_tapes_and_records_to_computer...

Re: seperating tracks on the cd
The procedure is the same as described in the previous post, but you also need to use CD burning software that supports gapless tracks, and a CD-RW drive that supports DAO. CDBurnerXP is a free CD burning program that can do this, providing your CD writer supports DAO (disk at once) writing. http://...

Re: Some thoughts on the 1.3 version
I'm not sure if it's the same on Windows, but in Audacity 1.3.12 on Linux there is an option at the bottom of the Recent Files to clear the list. Also, if the menu is obscured, you can simply move the mouse pointer below the bottom of the list so that the recent files list closes, then go back up to...

Re: Repeated Command
I don't know if Steve can make a Nyquist *effect* plug-in that generates at a point - I seem to recall this can't be done. Strictly speaking that is correct, but it can almost be done :P The attached Nyquist plug-in will replace the current selection with silence of a given length. "Process&qu...

Re: Problems recording
the only thing i have is a straight line with little or no movement, It's rather important that we know which - little movement or No movement. If you apply the Amplify effect (Effect menu) with the default settings, does that make the recorded waveform visible? i have an analougue cable with 2 x m...

Re: Excessive Static with the Use of USB PhonoPlus V.2
Question: When you have Audacity running, but before actually recording, do you get any sound indications lighting up your Vue Meters? Unless I missed it I don't think you've said which version of Audacity you are using (the highly recommended version is Audacity 1.3.12). In Audacity 1.3.12 you can...

Re: Some thoughts on the 1.3 version
Do you have very long file/path names and/or a very small screen size? If so, then you may need to work around the problem by setting up a keyboard short-cut to Export.
(Alt+Ctrl+E is not used as a standard keyboard short-cut and would probably be an easy one to remember)

Re: Input source
You need to mute the microphone. You will probably be able to do that by double clicking (or right clicking) on a loudspeaker icon near the time/date on your desktop and opening the sound card mixer application.

Re: strange noise
I wouldn't rule out the laptop being the culprit as an impossibility - as suggested previously it could be noise from the USB power supply (even if the Zoom is powered independently the USB power is still supplied to the Zoom), but this would still suggest that the Zoom is partly to blame as noise f...
