Re: Nyquist Plugin HEADS UP
Ahhh, "floating points". Remember when they introduced that FPU chip on mainboards? Indeed I do - I think my DX-100 had one of those (and a massive 1 GB hard drive :o ) Perhaps the NYQUIST processing code is different between versions Nyquist was updated in Audacity 1.3.something last yea...

Re: Sliding Pitch and Time Crash
Just updated - It does seem faster, and no crashes yet :) Just one thought - the interface is quite a lot longer (vertical height) than before - will people with small screens (800 x 600) be able to reach the "OK" button? Update: I spoke too soon :( Audacity has just crashed when applying ...

Re: strange noise
For comparison information, I use a Behringer UCA 202 sound card on an Acer 5735 laptop. Noise level is -78.3 dB with the input level set at 100% This gives a 0.4 dB drop if I link the output directly into the input. Testing the frequency response - flat (within 0.1 dBfs) from 20Hz to 19kHz (-2.5 dB...

Re: Minimum length mod for Silence Marker and Sound Finder
Re. splitting Audio books: What would be most useful if there is no pause anywhere near the minimum target length? Perhaps a special label put in at the target length regardless of the absence of a gap: "NO GAP" (muses to self...) How would that work? If the the label length is greater tha...

Re: Minimum length mod for Silence Marker and Sound Finder
I think that the case for counting forward is much stronger in the case of SoundFinder. Has anyone got an opinion on that? The terminology would probably be a bit different - perhaps "Minimum label length"? There could be a "Help" note that the final section of audio may be less ...

Project instability in 1.3
For me 1.3.12 remains liable to crashes on Windows (both XP and 7) if doing repetitive editing over long periods of time (think 100+ edits or so). I use Audacity extensively at work on Windows XP SP3. Most projects are less than 5 minutes duration, but may contain up to 20 tracks and hundreds of ed...

Go to the Windows Control Panel and increase the recording level for the "Line" input. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panel

Re: Recovering files
This time, I'll be hitting SAVE every five minutes. It can also be worth hitting "Save As" every now and then and saving the project with a new file name (for example, myoroject001 .aup, myoroject002 .aup, myoroject003 .aup ...) That way, if there is a really bad crash and the project bec...
