Re: downloading
I could split and move it if I knew where to move it to, but so far cromwell has not said what operating system or version of Audacity he is using (though I would guess it is Audacity 1.2.6 and some version of Windows).

Re: Export with period in filename flags warning
I still don't understand what you mean by "restrictive compared with other Windows apps". Surely Audacity is being less restrictive than many other Windows Apps in that it will allow you to use a non-standard file extension, whereas many other programs will force you to use the default. Au...

Re: Export with period in filename flags warning
As for notepad, I'd use a proper text editor. and a "proper" text editor would let you name the file anything you wanted? So if you wanted to name a text file "test.me" then the file would be called "test.me"? I don't see that it's "restricting functionality"...

Re: Labels from Text File
Do you know if Audacity supports any other methods of automation that might be able to do what we're looking for? Not without digging deep into the code. Just a thought about your Nyquist idea - could the "slates" begin with a number? (slate id number = label number) I think it would be p...

Re: Export with period in filename flags warning
All other sound edit apps I've just tried .... I presume that you mean on Microsoft Windows? Microsoft Windows does some things differently to other operating systems. One example is that, on Windows, files usually have the file extension added automatically (and hidden by default) without giving t...

For Win 7 you should be using Audacity 1.3.12 and not Audacity 1.2

Re: high sounds flattened out?
It may be a good idea if you and your friend could get together and try using the Equalizer effect. With the Equalizer you can adjust the level at whatever frequency you like. See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... ualization
