Re: Audacity Freezes When Pasting Files

"AUP" files are not audio files and you cannot just "paste" an AUP file. For full MP3 support you need to have Lame installed. See here about what AUP files are: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/File_Management_Tips See here for information about Lame: http://wiki.audacityteam.o...

Re: Error whilst opening sound device

I don't use Windows 7 myself, but there is a load of information here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panel
I gather that recording Stereo Mix on Windows 7 can be tricky to set up.

Re: Faint squeakiness in exported MP3 files

Your solution works because when you down-sample the track to 11025 Hz, that automatically limits the highest frequencies to about 5 kHz. At 32 kbps, the current version of Lame will attempt to maintain a bandwidth up to about 8kHz, but due to the lack of "bits" it does so imperfectly. Dat...

Re: VST PROBLEMS

Are you applying the effect to the entire track, or just to part of the track? Before you apply the effect, is the maximum peak level of the entire track below 0 dB? Do you have the same problem with 16 bit tracks and 32 bit tracks? Do you have the same problem with tracks that have a sample rate of...

Re: Submit your EQ Curves

If you install the current Nightly build of Audacity, then you will be able to create correctly formatted XML files without having to worry about correct XML mark-up. With the Nightly version, all you have to do is create your Eq curve in the Equalizer effect, save it, Export it, Zip it and upload i...

Re: recording from a music instrument

Thanks for the feedback frans and very pleased that you have a satisfactory solution.

In case other users read this topic and are unclear why Quartz Audiomaster software works with the Casio CDP-100, it is because Quartz Audiomaster (freeware) supports MIDI (which Audacity currently does not).
