Re: mono or stereo

I'm with Koz on this. If you have the necessary equipment, record one voice on the left channel and the other voice on the right channel. After recording, you can split the "stereo" track into 2 mono tracks and balance the levels, cut out coughs and sniffs, and process in whatever way you ...

Re: cn anyone help me record over a beat

There is a tutorial here for making a simple voice and music podcast http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Creat ... h_Audacity
The method for recording vocals over a beat is basically the same as described in that tutorial.

Re: Eq principes

@whomper
The Eqcurves.xml is used by the "Equalization" effect in the main "Effect" menu of Audacity 1.3.x.
The list of points in this XML file are the "co-ordinates" (frequency and dB values) of the points that are shown on the "Draw Curves" view.

Re: Text Envelope 0.8 beta

This irritation has come up before in connection with some of David Sky's proposed plug-ins. I'm inclined to think a better approach is to let the user type what is the recognised decimal separator for them in all user-level input boxes, then standardise the variables separator to something that's ...

Re: Recommondation for a Chorus Live Concert in a Church

What version of the compressor are you using and on what operating system ? I do have different options available, running audacity with Ubuntu. The new version has a simplified interface. Open the .NY file in a text editor for instructions on how to enable the advanced controls. ou have to be crea...

Re: Could anyone figure out this audio format for us?

I think you're out of luck. I suspect that the audio is compressed/encoded in some way, but I don't see any clues as to what type of encoding has been used. 2K Sports have probably done this in an attempt to protect their copyright.

Export it as a WAV file, then use Microsoft's WMA encoder. You can probably do that with Windows Media Player. Check Microsoft's website for details.

Re: Audacity icon association

I first starting playing with Linux when Vista came out ;) I still use XP at work but fully switched to using Linux about 3 years ago. About the only thing that I miss from Windows is that I found it kind of relaxing watching the old Windows 98 defrag program (I wonder if anyone has made it into a L...
