Re: Audacity to convert WAV to OGG Vorbis
oggdropXPd V.1.9.0 using libVorbis v1.3.1 - Generic (1684kB) Download the file (a zip file) and extract the .EXE file anywhere on your computer. For convenience you may want to make a Desktop shortcut to the .exe file. When the .exe file is run, you just see a small square with a cartoon fish (the X...

Re: Audacity to convert WAV to OGG Vorbis
You can, but it would probably be easier to just use a batch encoder program such as oggdropXPd (free and available here: http://www.rarewares.org/ogg.php )
Audacity is primarily for editing, so if you need to edit, then export as Ogg, then Audacity 1.3.12 would be an excellent choice.

I would recommend reading the full article posted by waxcylinder.
A very good free CD burning program that is not listed on that page is CDBurnerXP (Windows only)
You can get it here: http://cdburnerxp.se/

Re: How to play multiple audios simultaneously?!
For Audacity 1.2.6
"Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O tab"
Select "Play other tracks while recording new one".
For Audacity 1.3.12 this setting is conveniently available at the bottom of the "Transport" menu and is called "Overdub".

If you have it installed, open the Gnome Volume Control and go to the "Options" tab. The "switches" for which input is used should be there. If you do not have the Gnome Volume Control installed, you should be able to do the same thing using AlsaMixer. Open a Terminal window and ...

Re: Volume adjustments for an Audacity mixdown
Hi Cpt, There's at least two ways that you can approach this: Method 1 1) Select the drum track and apply the Amplify effect (with the default settings) to the entire track. This will amplify the track as much as possible without producing clipping. 2) Select a part of the track that you want to be ...

Re: No sound from project files - intermittently
How are you transfering projects from one computer to another? Audacity does not work well across networks because it requires fast and reliable access to the data and network delays cause problems. Moving Audacity projects from one machine to another can be a risky business as all of the project da...
