Re: Submit your EQ Curves
I agree they are long, but I struggled to get all the information into a shorter name. I don't know if it's supported by the Equalizer/Curve Manager, but in XML you can have "comments". <!-- This is a comment and should be ignored by the program --> <!-- this is a comment over multiple li...

Re: mono or stereo
Your computer microphones may not be electret, but that would be unusual. Computer microphones are usually electret microphones.

Re: Weird Clipping Issue With Headset-Recording
There may be a "+20dB boost" setting for the microphone.

Re: Applying Effects from command line
Audacity does very little from the command line. For command line operation have a look at Sox http://sox.sourceforge.net/

Re: [Ubuntu 10.04, Audacity 1.3.12-beta] Cannot open .wma fi
I think it is indeed a problem with FFMpeg - I also have problems with wma files. It's probably a lot easier to work around the problem by using SoundConverter (available through Synaptic) than to try and fix it in Audacity. I don't think that SoundConverter supports DRM protected files, but it work...

What sort of files are you trying to open?Hodge wrote:I get an error msg: Could Not Open File. What am I doing wrong?
Have you installed FFMpeg?
Is that the exact error message?
@whomper - he means from the "File > Open > File browser", not "File > Recent Files"

Re: Moving audio bites
You can have both 1.2.6 and 1.3.12 installed at the same time.
Limitations: You can't run them simultaneously, and the olde 1.2.6 version can not open projects that have been saved by the new 1.3.12 version (though 1.3.12 can open projects made with 1.2.6)

Back-electret microphones
Two of the connections are used for the audio signal and the third is used for supplying a voltage that is required by electret microphones.

Stereo electret microphones typically use 4 connectors.

Re: Text Envelope 0.8 beta
I was thinking more if string widgets didn't bypass comma > dot translation for appropriate locales String input does not and should not have comma > dot translations. If that were not the case it could create havoc with punctuation. So many users in Audacity these days are inexperienced with compu...
