Software Playthrough invariably causes a delay so that should be switched off.
How are you recording? Are you using a USB microphone?
What exactly do you mean "I need to hear myself as I'm recording"?

Re: Channels not being transfered
Except that tracks 2,3,4,5,6 and 7 appear to be silent. Is there supposed to be some audio on those tracks?billw58 wrote:The project looks fine as far as I can tell.
(No comment on the pan positions as they are not visible.)

Re: Warbling bass notes
Resampling to a higher rate can make a marginal improvement, but it is not much better. The "Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift" is not quite right yet, but the sound quality is a lot better. The attached file is a couple of low piano notes shifted down by 2 semi-tones. The first part is using...

Re: Podcasting: Fan Noise
I read that using the Effects to do a sound elimination is not ideal, and it actually created a warped sound even when set very low Results can vary quite a lot, but generally it is better to minimise the noise in the original recording. The Noise Removal effect in Audacity 1.3 generally works bett...

Re: Automatic tags in metadata editor
Audacity holds just one set of metadata for the current project. The id tag data from the first imported file into the project should automatically go into Audacity's metadata. Tag data from subsequent imported files is ignored. Note that there are inconsistencies in id3 tag data depending on what p...

Re: Minimoog V Effect Plugins?
Audacity does not currently support VST instrument plug-ins. (as far as I'm aware Core Audio instruments are not supported either).

Re: Sound microphone input distorts recording horribly!!!
With Windows 7 you should be using Audacity 1.3.12 If you're using Audacity 1.2.6 you can get the recommended 1.3.12 version from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows If you've just posted in the wrong part of the forum, let me know and I'll move the topic to the correct place. I am g...

Re: Warbling bass notes
Using Audacity 1.3.9. I transposed a piece of music from A down to G using the 'Change Pitch' effect. Seemed to work OK but I've noticed on the transposed version the lower notes have become 'Warbly' - bit like Wow on a tape machine. Is there anything I can do to reduce / stop this effect please? C...

Re: Channels not being transfered
Is the issue with just this one project or does this happen with all multi-track projects?
If it is the latter I think that you may need to give us step by step instructions that tell us how to reproduce the problem.
