Re: Sample rate discrepancy; what are the consequences?
"To prevent possible sample rate or recording channel discrepancies, right-click again and click Properties then the Advanced tab, and make sure the "Default format" matches both with the project rate bottom left of the Audacity screen, and with the number of "recording channels...

Re: HowTo wav mono, 8000Hz sample rate, 64 kbs with Audacity
From this web page it looks like you need to use 8 bit u-law format and not 8 bit PCM. Other pages seem to suggest using MP3s rather that WAV files. It also appears to depend on which version you are using. Where's the documentation that says exactly what the format should be for the version that yo...

Re: Soundcard to record "what you hear" in Win 7 with Audaci
So in a classic moment of weakness, I ordered it. LOL :D A remaining point of confusion on the Behringer is the choice of proper drivers. I have downloaded 4 different software packages from Behringer: I'm pretty sure that you don't need any of those for using the device with Audacity. "Asio4a...

Re: sound cancellation
Another possibility that may help to some degree is the "vocal isolation" ability of "Extra Boy". I think the "Lite" version is free. There is also a demo "Pro" version available. http://www.elevayta.com/product13.htm See here for how to install VST effects in...

Re: Soundcard to record "what you hear" in Win 7 with Audaci
I notice that there is a variant of the Behringer with some phono capability. Can you provide a little detail on EXACTLY what the variant offers? Is it intended to replace the need for a receiver or preamp in the recording chain?? That is, can you plug a turntable directly into the Behringer varian...

Re: Installation
but why is installing the driver for my "simple" USB turntable so complicated? Because Microsoft have taken something that was really simple in XP and made it into something that gives Vista/Win 7 users headaches. I have every sympathy. This method usually works: 1) Plug in the USB interf...
