Another way to swap the left and right channels is with this "Channel Mixer" plug-in http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 39&t=33563
(The plug-in is particularly useful if you have a track with several songs and you want to swap channels for some of the songs and not others)

Not necessarily. Most good e-mail clients allow you to view the e-mail headers before downloading the full content. Configuring your e-mail client that way is invaluable if you have pay-as-you-go or limited band-width/download limit.whomper wrote:pop3 users get screwed with a forced download no matter what

Re: Cannot hear anything when previewing an effect
You have an old version of Audacity. The current version is 1.3.12 which you can get from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windowsbntheman wrote:I have just recently downloaded Audacity 1.3.8

Re: Cut MB from 36 to under 25 to enable email
anyone who emails me anything that large gets on my permanent ****list Fortunately Hank is not proposing to send the e-mail to you. The file size limit on Gmail is currently 25MB. Because it is web mail the user can download the attachment as/when and if they choose. I would assume that the sender ...

Re: Cut MB from 36 to under 25 to enable email
Also, when you export the audio file you can export as MP3 (assuming that you have LAME installed) and when you get to the Export screen that shows the Export format, click on the "Options" button to set the amount of compression. The lower the kbps/quality, the smaller the file, but it is...

Re: Audacity exports
Here's how I do it: Open my 55 MB file Change the project rate from 44100HZ to 16000HZ Choose Export Type in the new file name Click Save Click OK That looks exactly right. It's a bit of a mystery to me why there should be the sudden change, but I've used AVAST recently on a Windows computer and it...

Re: cd burning?
Nero is generally accepted to be one of the best commercial CD burning applications for desktop PCs. If you have trouble using it you could try the Lite version which has a much simpler interface, though for Windows I would personally recommend CDBurnerXP, which has the added advantage of being free...

A short while ago the forum administrator attempted to migrate the forum across to other forum software that has better spam control features than the current phpBB. Unfortunately the migration was unsuccessful, so for now we are stuck with what we've got.

Re: MP3 Compression Issue
An alternative quick fix: if your music MP3 is stereo you could convert it to mono in Audacity, [see "Tracks", "Stereo Track to mono"], which will half its file size to ~7Mb. Some MP3 encoders do that and some don't. Audacity doesn't. What happens in Audacity is that if you enco...
