Re: need to remove transvestite sound from my voice

Personally I thought the reading speed was fine. Snappy enough to keep my interest, and slow enough to be clear and not sound hurried.

Re: Audacity and Media Player on Windows 7 notebooks

Great tip to double-click the sliders for fine control. ... I would agree this isn't really expected. What else could be done in the space to make it more discoverable isn't so obvious. It would be a bit tiresome to say "double-click for fine adjustment" in the tooltip, I think. Right-cli...

Re: Help needed exporting multiple files to MP3 at once

Right now, I use the left and right bracket keys to select the audio, When you have selected the audio, press Ctrl+B then press the "ENTER" key. This will mark the selected region with a label. Then press the right cursor key. This will move the playback cursor to the end of the section t...

Re: Help with Microphone to Speakers setup

Currently, I'm thinking a setup like this: mic -> laptop (plays mp3s) -> amp -> speakers. As you are looking at playback (not recording) - avoid computer microphones or any set-up that requires plugging the microphone into the laptop. It is overly complicated to set up, has many potential problems ...

Re: Sending users to our documentation

On my flat-screen (laptop) monitor, "Tutorials" stands out much more clearly than the other two (and does not look ragged). Of the other two, "Documentation" perhaps stands out marginally better than "Tips". I realise that the comma does not strictly belong to the "...

Re: Attack Sustain Decay Release

Concerning beats I meant "frequency beats" that cause the sound to a kind of pulse or vibration. I thought that is probably what you meant, though it will be very difficult to measure using Audacity. The tool for the job is "Plot Spectrum" (Analyze menu), but even with the "...

Re: need to remove transvestite sound from my voice

I’ve lowered the pitch as far as I dare, by -8%, (I previously suggested -3% above). Then boosted 40-400Hz range by 3-6dB, and boosted 4000-10000Hz by 3-6db in an attempt to preserve sibilance after the extreme downshift in pitch. Before-After mp3 attached [Yes I’ve used a bit too much noise reduct...

Re: cn anyone help me record over a beat

Here's what I did, per the tutorial: Go to Edit, in the drop down click Preferences, in the Audio I/O tab check both of the boxes at the bottom, the first one to hear the track while you record your voice, the second one to hear your voice over the track as you're recording. The BIG problem I'm hav...

Re: There is a gap in the voice and track

Hi Terry, If you look in Audacity "Help menu > About Audacity" it will tell you the version number. If you can then post your question in the part of the forum that is relevant to your version of Audacity and your operating system someone may be able to offer appropriate advice. General ti...
