Re: How to calibrate Audacity for my micro?

Do you think there is something I can do to record more volume without getting saturated ? If the recording has peaks that are much higher than the average level, the overall volume will be low, and the amount that it can be amplified (without creating nasty distortion) is limited by the fact that ...

Overdub -> On (enabled)
Software Playthrough -> Off (disabled)

In the Device Toolbar:

Is the second track your vocal? If so, you probably need to improve your microphone technique so that you can achieve a more consistent level. Re: Rhythm Track re-records on every track

Might just be this mixer. I think it is. Trying ProTools is a good idea - if the problem happens there as well, then that will firmly point to the mixer. If it is the mixer, then we can look at ways to work around the problem. Are you in the US, EU or elsewhere? (Relevant regarding the availability...

Re: Project opens with no sound

Yes it was created with Audacity 2.4.2, That rules out one theory. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps on one occasion in the past, that project may have been open when the computer shut down, which could have caused data to be lost. All I can suggest is to be sure to always save all proj...

Re: Macro for Playback/Overdub

So when I load the file and hit record new track, it plays the loaded files, runs it through the external and records the new track from line in. Why not just duplicate the track? What are you actually trying to achieve? If I understand your description correctly, you are basically making a copy of...
