Re: 12-Bit Recording
You can set the sample rate to 26.040 kHz by typing 26040 into the Project Rate box in the lower left corner of the main Audacity window. When you export your file, that sample rate will be used for the exported file. Audacity does not support 12 bit audio so you will need to Export in a higher qual...

Re: please help me
Download the "Audacity 1.3.12 installer" (.exe file) that is appropriate for your operating system onto your Desktop. Run the file from an Administrator account.

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity
if I connected the microphone for the vocals.... wouldn't that pick up the guitar as well Yes it will pick up the guitar a bit, but provided that you are singing quite close to the microphone it should not be a problem. There will be a limitation in that if you want to re-record part of the guitar ...

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity
Yes you could, though a better solution with your new found budget extension might be a "USB pre-amp". You are now getting really close to the answer in the forums' longest topic http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?t=22109 (grab a cup of tea and have a read - there's a lot of infor...

Re: Cue List in Audacity?
I get an "Edit metadata" dialog. I have no interest in this. I didn't see a way to skip this step. Any suggestions on that? I think you've posted in the wrong part of the forum - I bet you're using Audacity 1.3.x and not 1.2.x ? (look in Audacity "Help menu > About Audacity" for...

Re: Crash Recovery - Thoroughly Confused
Was the project "Saved" at any time? When you Save a project, the data files (the little .au files) are moved from the temporary folder to the project "_data" folder at whatever location you saved the project. Have you tried doing a search using Windows "Search" tool fo...

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam-co ... evices/221 I know you've mentioned these before and recommended them as inexpensive microphones for voice recording, but going back to the first post, are they likely to be any good for recording an acoustic guitar? I'm sure the noise level will be lower ...

Re: Saving as compressed project (wide size variation)
Are you saving the compressed file with a unique name? (just wondering if you have somehow managed to save the compressed project into an existing normal project). Another thing to try - see what happens when you select "File menu > Check Dependencies" Do you get the same results with proj...
