Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity

Would this one be good? I like it because it has decent software with it. The reviews are generally pretty good, but we've had quite a few users having problems with the M-Audio FastTrack. I get the impression that it has been made primarily to work with ASIO (which is not supported by the standard...

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity

I am sax & acoustic guitar player so whatever suits - Please advise? The trouble with asking advice on microphones is that you must also describe the application and the budget. For live use, the DPA 4099SAX is in my opinion the ultimate - great tone and you can ramp up the volume a heck of a l...

Re: Constant Error Message?

Yes the 1.3.x version can import projects that have been created in 1.2.x, but not the other way round. Projects saved in Audacity 1.3.x cannot be opened by Audacity 1.2.x. What about the effects? I have been told they are not very subtle Most of the standard effects are the same, but some have been...

Re: Memory leak

I had turned Rec to RAM on because the benchmark says I can only play 4.4 tracks simultaneously. I've always had my doubts about that benchmark test - on my laptop (a cheap Acer Aspire) the benchmark says around 100 tracks though in reality it becomes very sluggish with much less than that and at 1...

Re: Constant Error Message?

Can't think how that changed from the original (and no doubt default) setting? Too many exploring fingers possibly!! It's good to experiment - a great way to learn - and even better when you remember what you did :) Another suggestion/recommendation is to try Audacity version 1.3.12. Don't worry ab...

Change "Channels" to "2 (stereo)", then click OK, then close and restart Audacity.

Re: need more gain - peavey or ????

Behringer produce some very good hi-tech equipment and budget prices. They manage to cram in a lot of features and high specification in the price range and they are very popular in the semi-professional market in the UK. I also own quite a few pieces of Behringer equipment myself. They do cut some ...

Re: I get a watery sound when removing noise in audacity

It's the SCT2000 that I'll be testing. It's a valve mic. (T is for Tube).

I've not used the SC400 or SC600, but I've used the SC450 quite a bit and I was sufficiently impressed with it (for the price) that I bought one for myself.
