Re: Problem recording from vinyl

I don't think the driver for my Soundblaster card is fully compatible with Windows 7 That's quite possible. If you want to try and get the SB card working, have a look on the Creative Labs web site and see if there are any updated Windows 7 drivers for your sound card. The SB card is unlikely to be...

Re: Need to reverse Left-Right tracks

Click on the name of the track and a drop-down menu will appear. "Split Stereo Track" is near the bottom of that menu. To drag a track up or down (when you have more than one track in the project), click and hold the mouse button down on a blank bit below the track name and drag up or down...

Re: Uninstalling Audacity from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)

I'm not sure that I understand. Are you saying that you have deleted everything that you can find from your old Audacity installation, but still have a problem in that you want to install Audacity with Synaptic but it won't install?

Re: Uninstalling Audacity from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)

Are you sure that you are running the command from the correct directory? For example if your source code is in "/home/<user-name>/audacity" you will need to change to that directory - so in this example you would open a terminal window and enter: cd audacity then run sudo make uninstall

Re: converting stereo track to mono one

It sounds like your Tascam imports from CD the same way as my Yamaha does. The key things to check are: Tracks must be the correct format - on my Yamaha they must be the same sample rate as the project (44.1 or 48 kHz), 16 bit (Microsoft) PCM WAV, mono or stereo. For your Tascam they need to be 44.1...

Re: Bass issue when burning to DVD

To reduce the bass you can use the Equalizer effect. The Equalizer is a fancy tone control that you can use to adjust the levels of different frequencies. Bass frequencies are on the left sliders, and treble frequencies to the right. To reduce the bass, move the sliders on the left down. If you coul...

Re: Uninstalling Audacity from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)

From the Audacity source code directory,

Code: Select all

sudo make uninstall
If you want to uninstall any of the libraries that you installed with "sudo apt-get install", the safest way is probably to use Synaptic.
