Re: Audacity 1.3.12 beta, Win7: "What you hear" missing now
Quite a few manufacturers have removed the "Stereo Mix" (What U Hear) option. It has been suggested that this may be due to concerns regarding people circumventing DRM protection, but sometimes it is just because the initial release of drivers for their sound cards were not fully functiona...

Re: choose microphone for art project
Based on that, I think that a Logitech USB Desktop Microphone would be a good candidate (as recommended by Kozikowski) If you look through this thread http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=36432 there are a couple of sound samples. The microphone itself is most likely just a cheap e...

Re: How do I describe this waveform?
Are we doing someone's homework? :? I'm nit picking here but isn't "sawtooth" a more accurate description than "triangle" ? If you fully rectify a sawtooth wave you get a triangle wave, (not another sawtooth). What happens if you invert a full-wave rectified "triangle" ...

Re: choose microphone for art project
How many microphones do you need? Are you intending to process the sound in any way before it gets to the computer, or only in the computer? Do you need low latency? (as low as possible, or just reasonably low?) How sensitive does the microphone need to be? (what sort of sounds are you trying to pic...

Re: Bass issue when burning to DVD
Is this what the song sounds like? Sample 2 slow.mp3 If it is, then the problem is that you DVD/Slide Show program requires files to have a sample rate of 44100 Hz. The two files that you have posted have a sample rate of 48000 Hz. To Export a file and force the sample rate to 44100Hz, set the "...
