Re: How do I mic my hand drum?
Typically, I'll use two mics -- a top mic and a bottom mic. That's what I prefer to do. Q. The doumbek is the same as a Darbuka? For the top microphone, get it as close as possible to the skin and use a mic. that has low sensitivity - very close mic'ing can produce extreme sound levels and you need...

Re: Clipping Question
(clip sound 1.0)
To clip at a different level, just change the 1.0 to the amplitude that you want to clip at.

Re: Recovering files
Congratulations :) To be honest I'm pleasantly surprised that it worked - I was more than half expecting the file to be unreadable or so badly damaged as to just produce garbage, but I'm very happy that it has worked out. I have one more question about that loud noise at the first milliosecond: is t...

Re: How do I describe this waveform?
Sawtooth: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sawtooth_wave I'm working on an "unofficial TS404 BETA user guide", to try to get more people making their own samples. I want to include some verbiage as well as pictures to try to make the whole process of synthesization less complex. My thought is,...

Re: Recovering files
1) In the Start Offset part, they're asking for bytes Leave that at zero. If you get everything else correct then the effect of leaving this at zero will give you a bit of noise in the first millisecond or so. 2) What does it mean "little-endian", "no endian", "big-endian&q...

Re: Autotune Plug-In doesn't show up
There are several "tutorials" on YouTube describing how to get a T-Pain effect with G-Snap on Audacity. However, for a full T-Pain effect you need to set the effect to track a MIDI input (same if using Antares Autotune) but Audacity does not support MIDI. So you can get an approximation to...
Re: No sound
Where do you want the playback sound to come out from? From the "Digitech Audio" device or from your normal sound card?Rustyfile wrote:I am playing from a small new unit called Digitech Audio
In Audacity 1.2.6, look in "Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O" to select the playback device.

Re: mad electric noise at 30 seconds
A mixer would be nice :) but to avoid the expense you should be able to get a reasonable recording level from your keyboard by plugging it directly into the UCA 202 with a suitable audio cable. Check to see if your digital piano has outputs marked "Line out", Aux", "Stereo Out&qu...

Re: Autotune Plug-In doesn't show up
I don't think that Antares Autotune is supported by Audacity.
A similar (free) effect called GSnap is partially supported. http://www.gvst.co.uk/gsnap.htm
