Re: EXIT Question
Can't get !end to work either. !end is used in "adagio" to mark the end of a score. http://www.audacity-forum.de/download/edgar/nyquist/nyquist-doc/manual/part9.html#index750 ... allow programmers to have the plug-in exit instead of running through all the code. ... I like to program in m...

Re: RECORDIND DISTORTS AFTER 5 MINUTES IN UBUNTU-LUCID
I have to believe that the Linux version of 1.3.12 is not right yet although the screen is so beautiful in Lucid I've installed and used Audacity 1.3.12 on Jaunty, Karmic, Lucid and Lucid Studio and it's worked straight away on all four, so I would have to believe that it is an unusual case that it...

Re: Exporting to mp3 or wav produces silent files
Do your Audacity projects still play OK?
Are you using a USB device for recording? If so, try disconnecting the device, then reboot your computer. Do the files play now?

Re: play recordings in programs like ventrilo
Are you able to play the audio output of other programs (such as Windows Media Player? If you are, then Export your Audacity Project as a WAV or MP3 file and play that file. Audacity does not do real time processing. It is designed to record/import, then edit/process then export the finished work as...

Re: Overdubbing = huge sound increase
At the bottom (in the "Record" section) click on each of the loudspeaker icons except for the one below the "Line Volume" slider. That should mute the unused inputs (indicated by a red "X" across the icon).

Re: Overdubbing = huge sound increase
Do you have an icon like this: http://www.guruextraordinaire.com/images/realtek/openrealtek.png Click, or perhaps double click or right click, on that icon and open the RealTek mixer. It should look something like this: http://www.guruextraordinaire.com/images/realtek/Mixer.png What are you wanting ...

Re: Overdubbing = huge sound increase
In Audacity: Check that "Software Playthrough" is off (bottom of the "Transport" menu). In the RealTek mixer application: Check that your recording source is set to microphone or line in (depending on which you are using) and not set to "Stereo Mix". The RealTek Mixer a...

Re: Audacity stops recording at 36 seconds
Thanks for being so diligent in your description - you have saved the asking of a dozen questions there :) While we work through this, stick with Audacity 1.3.12 so that we don't get confused about versions. Could you check the following: Audacity version (look in "Help > About Audacity" -...

Re: New MAC user - old PC user
I placed no more than 30 days. Anybody else? Anyone? I'll put my money on pdxrunner - If he was still on Windows 7 I'd be betting the other way, but a Mac is basically an expensive Linux box isn't it ;) I have a similar set-up on my Linux laptop (internal sound card for Skype, USB sound card for li...
