Re: Ripping Vynil, 'dropout' on audio
Has anyone come across this issue, is it processor related? "drop-outs" can be caused by a data bottleneck anywhere in the system, so yes it can be processor related, but could also be due to a slow or excessively fragmented hard drive, a slow USB connection, other processes using the har...

Re: Track Tempo Ajustment
The "Change Tempo..." effect (from the "Effect" menu) should make no difference to the pitch. If it does, could you check exactly which version of Audacity you are using (look in "Help" menu > "About Audacity") and give a step by step description so that we ma...

Re: mp3 bitrate
Incidentaly will mp3 players play VBR and ogg vorbis and all those other wierd codecs? For hardware MP3 players - most will VBR MP3s correctly, though they may display the wrong track length (this does not usually affect playback, only the display of the length/play time of the track). For other fo...

Re: Recordings in "stereo" appear in mono
Which version of Windows are you using? If you're using Windows 7 (possibly also Vista) you may need to enable "stereo" as the recording format in the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel) See here for details of how to access the sounds settings in the Control Panel http://wiki.audacityte...

Re: Usability feedback
I'm not 100% clear about what you want, but I think I get the general idea. You're correct in thinking that the looping functions in Audacity are quite limited - that's not really what the program is designed for, though I totally agree that improvement/enhancement in this area would be extremely us...

Re: Meta data not exported with wav files
The most commonly supported format for Metadata is MP3, though this is not the best format for sound quality. Metadata is also well supported for FLAC format and has the advantage of 'perfect' sound quality. This format is less well supported by media players, but can be easily converted to and from...

Re: Multitracking and "dropping in"
I'm not sure of the advantage of that over just placing the cursor or the selection and hitting R to record from the cursor or from the start of the selection in a new track. There's not much of an "advantage" - The main advantage is probably that you can specify whether the recording occ...
