Re: Amplify settings (2) are always locked together
What I am looking for is equal loudness across all songs on a particular CD--not any type of comparison across CDs. I take the same approach. It can be annoying to play a CD and one or two tracks are much louder or quieter than the others. If the tracks on a CD are at least roughly equal loudness, ...

Re: Help, walk through
It's difficult/impossible to give exact steps due to differences from one machine to another due to differences in the sound card hardware and sound card drivers. However, there is an article here that goes through the various settings that you need - the hard part is setting up the sound card corre...

Re: Changing the length of the Tone Generator
It is impossible to generate a tone to a greater accuracy than one sample. Digital audio is just a series of numbers. Each individual sample is a number. You can have a sound that has 14 samples (a series of 14 numbers) or 15 samples (a series of 15 numbers) but you can't have 14.5 numbers. Thus the...

Re: ClickRepair compression
This is the test that I've just tried: I used the standalone Java version because I'm using Linux. 1) Downloaded the zipped jar version of "ClickRepair 3.4 (build 4.2a)" from here: http://clickrepair.net/software_download/clickrepair.html 2) Unzipped the file. 3) Ran the "JClickRepair...

Check that you do not have the "Solo" button pressed on the track that plays.

Re: Amplify settings (2) are always locked together
It's serious science fiction. And most importantly it's subjective - which is why Koz and myself will always disagree on these figures relating to loudness. From my subjective quantifying of loudness, I'd say that a 0.1 dB difference in level is barely discernible, and that somewhere in the range o...

Re: "Stopped Working" error message.
The recommended version of Audacity for Vista (and Windows 7) is Audacity 1.3.12. (Vista had not been invented when the 1.2.x version was written).
You can download Audacity 1.3.12 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
