Re: Unattended command line processing

Not having any comments, it appears there is little interest in unattended CLI processing at this time. It's not a commonly sought feature, but it does come up from time to time, and for the people that are looking for this it is often of great importance. If you have time it might be useful (prima...

Re: WAV files, Metatags, versus Windows Media Player

Or even iTunes. If you don't mind the bloat. For a full install of iTunes 8 the download is around 64 MB, expanding to around 200 MB when installed, then it continues to expand as you use and update it. I've heard of installs reaching a massive 2GB in size. Perhaps not a lot when put into context w...

Re: WAV files, Metatags, versus Windows Media Player

So in effect, WMP knows that the track off the other album is not the right track and it won't let you manually add it to the album. It sounds like another typical "Microsoft knows best" moment. Perhaps you could get round it this way: Make a compilation CD. Rip the CD with WMP (unknown al...

Re: WAV files, Metatags, versus Windows Media Player

what I want to do is fix whatever is not being read correctly in the WAV files. I'm not sure I understand. What sort of file are you having problems with? "16 bit 44100 Hz (Microsoft) PCM WAV" ? What's happening/not happening? Hadn't tried WinAmp (as an alternative player, you're suggesti...

Re: WAV files, Metatags, versus Windows Media Player

Does anyone know what/how WMP really wants to see in metatages, in WAV files? It doesn't. WMP does not support metatag data in WAV files. (I've not checked recent versions of WMP but Microsoft have probably not added Metadata support for WAV files. Metadata was not part of the original (Microsoft) ...

Re: Sounds are too "hot"

I posted about this earlier, and got no reply, so I thought I'd try again with a different subject line. Probably because no-one really knew what you meant. the "s's" in the speaker's words have a hiss and an occasional whistle. The description sounds like you mean that there is an over e...

Re: How to mix vocals off-center?

set one of them to the left channel and one to the right channel, then do something to one or both of our vocal tracks, but whatever we do it must be different on the left track to what we do with the right track. Other effects that you could try are: Use a bit of Reverb to each track (different se...

Re: How to mix vocals off-center?

To be not removed by the "centre-pan removal" (vocal removal) technique, the sound just needs to be different on each channel. Unless the vocal is totally 100% over on the left, or 100% over on the right, then it will not be "totally different" on the two channels and anything th...
