Re: Phase jumps when recording
Looks to me like a circular buffer pointer race .... Out of curiosity, look in "Edit menu > Preferences > Recording". What settings do you have in the section titled "Latency"? Have you checked it the Windows Control Panel and checked that the sound card settings match the setti...

Re: finer resolution in Silence Finder
Silence finder cannot detect silence if the silence is less than about 0.02 to 0.03 seconds unless further modifications are also made. Considering usability issues, I would imagine that in most cases 0.1 seconds is a useful minimum silence length. For (rare?) cases where a smaller duration is requi...

Re: splitting recordings into separate tracks
the problem is that Audacity puts a tiny little bit of silence "between" each track, even if you didn't want that That should not be happening if you are using Audacity 1.3.12 and are exporting as a WAV format. You may get an inexact file length if you are exporting in a lossy format, or ...

The M-Audio Fast Track Ultra should be fine, though some users have reported difficulty setting it up.

Download the file "looper.ny" from this post http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=33234#p90221 Put the file into your Audacity plug-ins folder and restart Audacity. Open the vocal track that you want to apply the effect to, and select the first part of the word that you w...

Re: How to know volume?
You may not be able to export a WAV of the show. Something that long will create a WAV over 5GB and I believe the limit is either 2GB or 4GB. The maximum size for a WAV file is 4 GB. The 2 GB limit is imposed by some (usually older) computers. My recommendation would be to export the recording in c...
