Re: Multiple notches with Nyquist prompt?
Am I using a biquad function in this example: No you're not using a biquad function in that example, but I think you may have misunderstood what I meant. In Audacity 1.2.6 some of the filter functions (such as highpass2 , notch2 ,....) only worked for mono tracks, but in Audacity 1.3.12 the code fo...

Re: Edit restore
While Audacity can do many of the things that ProTools can do (and some things that ProTools cannot do), Audacity works in a significantly different way to ProTool. The main difference is that ProTools references the audio data and applies edits and effects to it on the fly, whereas for most functio...

Re: Importance of recording Levels
If you are just transferring vinyl to CD there is little if any benefit in recording at any rate other than 44.1 kHz but there are significant disadvantages such as the increased file size and slower performance.

Re: Importance of recording Levels
You violated the Audacity rule of only doing production in one sound format. Audacity doesn't convert well and you can cause some serious problems by crossing formats. That was a frequent problem in Audacity 1.2.x but it should not be a problem in 1.3.12 (other than a slightly increased CPU load wh...

Re: Stuttering when recording
When I am recording the click track stutters and jumps about once every minute or so. Is anything else happening every minute or so, such as checking e-mail or any other background task? There might be a few relevant suggestions on this page: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Troubleshooting_Record...

Re: Plectrum Clicks
If it's just the occasional click you may be able to fix it by careful editing, but if there are lots of clicks throughout the recording then that will take forever.
If you upload a short sample you may get some more specific suggestions.

Re: Recording through Stereo Mix - Lossless?
why is is that stereomix can't be recorded at 100%? The recording volume must be at around 22% for nothing to clip... That's down to the sound card drivers (software that interfaces the sound card into the rest of the computer). I believe that there is also some degree of sound quality loss when re...

Re: ladspa-0.4.15 effects question
Steve Harris has a brief description of each effect on his web-site http://plugin.org.uk/ladspa-swh/docs/ladspa-swh.html
(I think he also lists a few additional plug-ins that are not included in the Audacity plug-in pack)

You're welcome.
I'd be interested to hear what you do with this effect - perhaps you could post a link to a sound sample when you have had time to play with it.

Re: Question on PCM audio import
I've no idea what the sound is supposed to sound like, but some parts are recorded at a very low bit rate (slow speed) and if played back at the "correct" speed the sound quality will be very poor especially when combined with the bit depth being only 8 bit. Perhaps it is supposed to be pl...
