You've not used the word "Export". Did you just save the Audacity project or did you export an audio file?

Re: "Failed to load Device on Disk" Message after Loading

My guess is that it's a message from one of your VST plug-in.

Does Audacity open after that message, or can you not open Audacity?

Re: No "Export" Option

I was finally able to at least download the WMA files in RAW format into Audacity and even got the "Export" button to show up - yay! Good - that means that you have FFMpeg installed and working correctly. it tells me Audacity needs the lame_enc.dll file to create the MP3. It then shows th...

Re: Roller window on the tool bar

THIS IS ONE STUPID IDEA I certainly see your point, and to some extent agree with you, but it is very common practice for programs to do this because it can be really annoying to have to set up your preferences all over again just because the program has been updated. A compromise situation that ha...

Re: Annoying problem when attempting to record

any idea on where to begin to find such settings? If there is a mixer applet for your sound card (a loudspeaker icon near the Time/Date on your Desktop) have a look in there. Realtek on-board sound cards usually have such an applet and hide these settings either in the microphone set-up page, or be...

If you have another instrument to balance t...

Re: Plectrum Clicks

Brian Davies "Click Repair" does a pretty good job of removing the clicks automatically. That's pretty impressive - the Audacity Click Removal hardly touches them. I've just had a go with "Gnome Wave Cleaner" (an open-source sound restoration program for Linux) and with a bit of...

Re: Importance of recording Levels

Personally I'd record just a little less "hot" than that (recording level a little lower). At about the 7 minute mark it looks like it is getting precariously close to clipping. Assuming that You have the pre-amp set really close to "max-without-clipping" then it looks like you h...

Re: Click Removal Tool

Try splitting it up again, but this time, set your labels on CDDA frame boundaries. To do this, on the Selection Toolbar, click on the little black arrow that is on the right hand side of one of the time display boxes and sect "CDDA frames (75fps)" Then select the "Snap To" check...

Re: finer resolution in Silence Finder

"Allow silence between sounds less than [seconds]" ? It's getting a bit long, but is still 2 characters less than the next label: "Label starting point [seconds before sound starts]", and quite a lot shorter than: "Minimum duration of silence between sounds [seconds]" (...
