Re: mic

Re: Default FFT settings
In Audacity 1.2.6 you can reset the FFT effect to "flat" by clicking the "Clear" button. However, that will not allow you to "reverse" the effect of a previously applied FFT filter - it just resets the effect to a "neutral" (does nothing) setting. In Audacity ...

Re: How do you fade music at the start of a project
One method that you could use is the Envelope tool: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... elope_Tool
Hopefully your music and vocals will be on different tracks so that you can overlap them like in a professional show.

Re: Can't reassign loop play
You can assign Space to Loop Play if you first assign "Play/Stop" to an unused key. Note that "Play/Stop" is not "Play" and "Stop". You will find "Play/Stop" in the "Commands" category. Setting Space to Loop Play will not allow you to stop ...

Re: Importance of recording Levels
I'd like to include just two more pics to demonstrate the wide disparity between recording levels on commercial Cds, but I have maxed out my upload quota. Is there a way around this? Can I just remove some of the previous pictures or something? I think that either the forum is getting close to what...

Re: File Disappeared - HELP!
Regarding recovery, there's not much you can do unless you can find the .au files (that should be in the _data folder). Recording is normally written to a temp file on the C drive - check in the Audacity Preferences for the exact location. When you Save the project, the data should then be automatic...

Re: Dalek/Davros Feedback while another program is running.
Flash browser plug-ins can certainly cause some weird sound card problems. Extensive testing without opening a web browser (reboot, then start testing) may help to determine if that is the problem. Another common culprit is Skype. Does the problem only affect playback, or does it affect the recorded...

Re: WAV files, Metatags, versus Windows Media Player
Tried Foobar and WinAmp, neither wants to read the album tags generated by WMP11's rips of CD's to WAVs As far as I'm aware WMP11 does not write tags into the files, it just maintains a database of the tack information (for it's own exclusive use) so although Microsoft receive notification of every...

Re: How To Record Streaming Audio In 1.3?
But I use Windows XP Which is why there is a forum board specifically for people using Audacity 1.3.x on Windows http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=5 The problem with posting on a general board like this is that no-one knows what sort of machine you are working on, and few people are goi...

Could you expand on this.rodeorider wrote:have made sure sound card is the same in comp as the one audacity is using etc
For example, which version of Audacity, what sort of sound card, what settings have you set where to what?
(at the moment I can narrow it down to "something is wrong").
