Re: Recording input - "stereo mix" now gone
then my computer suddenly lost stereo mix again. I realized that happened only after windows update ran and picked something up. Windows Update has updated the drivers to a version that does not support Stereo Mix (thank you so muck Microsoft). If you are using drivers that are specific for your so...

Re: Not recognizing
Your other options are to either buy the pro version of Traktor, or record on a separate device such as a cassette recorder or a second computer.

Re: Auto Gain?
just redone the piano file with audicity, and the difference is not so great as i thought at first, now that i've played around with it. i think it might be more informative to send you the original track which is fairly lo-fi rendition of stairway to heaven, cropped from bbc iplayer. actually, it'...

Re: All I need to do is just convert the .au files to .wav
If you are referring to the .au files that Audacity creates (as part of an Audacity Project), you just need to Export (File menu).

Re: Multi-channel Recording in Audacity
You can tell whoever you like, I think Koz is referring to the Secret Order of Igams (dum dom dumm - terrifying sound effect on timpani drum). Allegedly the Secret Order of Igams specifically forbids members to reveal the dark secrets of which sound cards work and how to set them up (on pain of hav...

Re: Clicks in between data and exporting problems
when i export to mp3 it slows down considerable and puts a gap of silence before it. Looping MP3s always causes clicks due to a limitation of the MP3 format that means that there will always be a short bit of silence before the start of the sound. This is not a fault in Audacity or in Lame but a li...

Re: Audacity Frozen
I'm guessing that: you are using Audacity 1.2.6 on Windows Vista and this is a really important never to be repeated performance that you have recorded with a microphone on a laptop using the on-board sound card in the laptop, and the project has not yet been saved. If that's correct, do a search fo...
