so when I load it into another program it does not start playing the file until at T=7.
If you don't want the first 7 seconds to play, why not just delete the first 7 seconds? :?
I don't see what you are hoping to achieve with metadata.

time tagged audio files
I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about metadata in files that you are importing, or are you referring to labelled audio clips in Audacity tracks?

Re: Stuck in strange mode. Help!

My guess is that you have inadvertently selected one of the "Tools" (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tools_toolbar.html)
The default "Tool" is the "Selection Tool".

Re: Accessing Metadata with Nyquist?

is there a way to access the metadata with Nyquist? Nyquist does not have any built-in support for metadata as far as I'm aware. I'm working on something that requires additional information to be added to audio files that are chopped up If you tell us more about what you are doing, we 'may' be abl...

Re: Acx help - Cancelling a narration.

Has anyone any experience with cancelling an Acx book narration? I haven't, but there's some information about cancelling a contract on the ACX site: https://audible-acx.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6592/~/i-want-to-dissolve-my-contract.-can-this-be-done%3F It looks like the first step shou...

Re: alesis firewire stop start every second win7

I want to record using 4 mics, one in each Alesis channel This comes down to drivers. Audacity cannot ship with ASIO support due to licensing issues. I've downloaded the latest version of Audacity
"Audacity 2.4.2 installer" (.EXE) or "Audacity 2.4.2 zip file" (.ZIP)?

the song sound like the recording is jumping forward every 10-20 seconds.
Is the jumping regular? (For example, jumps on 12 or 18 seconds, but not 13, 14, 15, 16 or 17 seconds.)

Re: Audition Plugins Port

It was enabled If the pretty GUI is enabled but does not work with Audacity, then Audacity falls back on the basic UI (which is what you are seeing). I'm using: Xubuntu 18.04 LTS calf-plugins 0.0.60-5 Audacity 2.4.2 built from source https://github.com/audacity/audacity/releases/tag/Audacity-2.4.2

If you get it to work with the snapd version, you will be the first on this forum to do so - please post how you do it if you succeed.
